Starbucks and New Climate

New Climate, a leading supplier in China’s main apparel production base of Jiangsu Province, started to be chosen as the supplier of the Starbucks in summer, 2006. As a global chain coffee shop, Starbucks does have a series of strict requirements for its suppliers.

First, Starbucks pays much attention to the treatment of the employees in its supplying factories. On Feburary 21st and March 18th 2008, Starbucks sent its auditors to New Climate to do the audit for the minimum wages of its employees. Only in such a short period, Starbucks did see a great improvement in the paying for New Climate’s workers. And New Climate has mostly got Starbucks approval to be its authorized supplier.

Second, Starbucks emphasises the efficiency and the quality of its suppliers. On March 25th, with the company of the QC department’s director from Starbucks’ agency, New Climate carried out the first training programme in its Sewing Department and Embroidery Department for the first quarter of 2008. It’s absolutely that Starbucks has decided to establish a quite long-term cooperative relationship with New Climate. As a matter of fact, the quantity of the products New Climate has already supplied for Starbucks is up to million and there are still millions to be done.

So as one of the honored Starbucks’ global suppliers, New Climate, was, is and will always be the most trustable business partner.
